Some questions to consider...

Why do you want to be a Freemason?

Please bear in mind that becoming a Freemason is not for personal gain and growth of a career or business.

Are you at least 18 years old?

You must be at least eighteen years old to join freemasonry.

Do you believe in a supreme being?

You must believe in a supreme being to be a Freemason. We won’t ask about religion, that is personal to you.

Do you have criminal convictions?

To join you must be of good character with no criminal convictions. If you’re not sure what counts and what doesn’t, ask us.

Is your family aware of your interest in Freemasonry and, if so, are they supportive of your intention?

Becoming a freemason does require time and commitment and having supportive family will enhance your experience

Given your current stage of life and personal circumstances, do you have the time available to commit to joining and becoming an active Freemason?

Can you afford it?

There is a cost to Freemasonry (Joining fee, regular lodge subscription, dining fee, regalia) and it is important that you factor that into your consideration.

Our Lodge fees are currently £27 a month (including dining).

Meet

As part of the process you will want to meet and talk to Freemasons from the Lodge. This role is undertaken by our Lodge Membership Officer Andy Coe who is also our dining Secretary.

Andy joined Seaford Lodge in February 2014 and quickly rose through the offices, becoming The Master in October 2020, at the height of Covid 19.

He was master for 2 years, until 2022.

"As a Freemason I really enjoy being a part of Seaford lodge, it has a wide range wide range of social activities, Curry Club being my favourite and all the brethren are great.

I will hopefully be your first point of contact and look forward to meeting you, should you wish to join."

Our team will also want to meet with you and discuss your interest and circumstances. There is a process for this which will be made clear to you, but rest assured it is friendly and informative.
